Calm Before the Storm: Life after Loss & Writing to Heal

Alright y’all,

This is what 62,549 words looks like printed!!! Last week I was so thrilled when I read through Khalil’s section, which was nearly 16k words…but to pull up my most current manuscript and realized that the book has far more words than I had remembered…Wowzers!!!

I utilized the library printing resource to save some money and printed out all 183 pages in preparation for my deep dive…not so much to edit the book, it’s time to make sure all I have written is exactly what I need to say, to write for me and further MY healing process with this book!!! I’m ready. Plus, I need to close it out strong and make sure to leave my readers with tips and tools to utilize along their healing journey.

This has already been a beautiful journey and I look forward to moving through this phase and sending my book…

Thanks yall! I’ve opened up the flood gates and new details and emotions are flowing in right now…oh lord! 👀

Khalil: Angel Baby

A childless mother’s pain is like no other,

Creating a constant stinging, ringing, lingering

In her heart, mind, and soul.

Leftover longing, wondering, yearning

To fill the void, mend the heart, and forget about

Her chest’s gaping hole.

Thank you for sharing sis. This is a beautiful reminder of how sacred life is and how I children actually come to teach us if we are willing to listen with our ears, heart, and spirit.💖🫶🏽🪶

And so the journey begins…

Grand rising y’all!

Yesterday I visited the draft of my book “Calm before the Storm: Life after Loss & Writing to Heal” after an amazing friend reminded me that the world is waiting to read my words!

Challenge accepted!

I opened my 15,689-word manuscript and went through the entire thing, start to finish, yesterday. I laughed, I cried, I remembered and felt all the pain all over again, and I continued to read and visualize the missing pieces and why certain things were left out or smoothed over..:

Nope, not today! Round three has begun and I’m ready to take it deeper and write for MY SAKE, as my girl said, CHOOSE YOU; I choose me.

We all van heal together as we support one another. Thank you for your Rae truth. Yes we can.... heal!

Yesterday’s Strawberry Moon was EVERYTHING!

And all day of travels and the moon welcomed us with open arms! Cheers to the flux of new beginnings and starting mew chapters in life and embarking on all that is in store! I’m leaving it all at the water and taking a much needed reset!💜🙏🏽🥰
