Healing Ancestral Grief: Words of Wisdom for June

Healing Ancestral Grief: Words of Wisdom for June

From the Ancients to You — A Teaching of Soul Remembrance

By Divinely Sahrah, Founding Mother of Ladies of the Light & Soul Doula

"You are the altar. You are the healer. Let your life become the prayer that sets your ancestors free."

June is not merely a mark on the calendar; she is a sacred threshold, a gentle invitation to slow down and listen to what lives beneath the surface. She arrives not to disrupt, but to guide—with the warmth of sun on your back and the wisdom of wind in the trees. This is a time to walk softly into the stories woven into your bones, to feel the quiet echoes of those who came before, and to make space for what has long been silenced.

Ancestral grief is not something to bypass or erase—it is a river that asks to be honored. It moves through your breath, your blood, your memory. And yet, within this sorrow lies a profound inheritance: resilience, wisdom, prayer, and the undying love of those who walked before you. Your ancestors are not asking you to carry their pain, but to witness it, to feel it, to bless it—and by doing so, to transform it.

This month is a sacred bridge between the ache of the past and the becoming of the future. It is a time to offer your presence to the unfinished stories and let your hands become instruments of healing. Light a candle in their honor. Speak their names aloud or in your heart. Place your hands over your chest and whisper, “I remember. I honor. I heal—not only for me, but for us.”

Let your life become the living prayer that sets them free. Let every act of love and self-care you offer ripple backward through time, touching the spirits of those who once thought they were forgotten. You are the altar. You are the healer. And in your remembering, the lineage breathes a little easier.

Breathe deeply, Ancient One.

You are standing at the threshold of sacred transformation.

The Earth remembers you. The Ancestors guide you.

The Sacred pulses through every breath you take.

Step forward.

You are ready.

Aho. Asé. And so it is.

SACRED CONNECTIONS

From the Heart of the WSW (ALIST) Sistarhood

Reflections from the 18th Founder Meet Up

April 23rd, 2925

Wow. We’re still glowing.

Walking into that room—pajamas on, heart open, surrounded by powerhouse women—we knew we were stepping into something sacred. This wasn’t just another business meetup. It was a full-on soul revival disguised as a pajama party.

We laughed until our cheeks hurt, played games like kids again, cheered each other on during the runway walk, and leaned into every moment of magic. Even sitting on the floor shoulder to shoulder reminded us: we are a community that shows up and makes space, no matter what.

The CEO Hot Seat was electric. Watching our sisters share their businesses with honesty and courage reminded us why we’re here—to rise, together.

To the team of women who made this happen: your brilliance and care did not go unnoticed. You created a space where we could laugh, heal, dream, and connect.

We came in as founders. We left as family.

Ladies of the Light was honored to hold space at Loving Presence: Doula Training for Critical Reproductive Support for Bereavement, Loss, and Termination. hosted by Mother Tree

April 23rd - April 26th, 2025

Over two transformative days, wellness practitioners were guided by a collective of experts, including Jesse Remer, Zoe Piliafas, Nneka Denise, Sah’Rah Ma’at, Graciela the Sage, and other doulas and healers. The training began with sacred intentions and breathwork by Graciela the Sage, grounding participants in a shared purpose. Together, they explored the emotional and historical layers of reproductive care, blending compassion, ancestral resilience, and clinical wisdom. Sah’Rah Ma’at led a Sacred Flow Meditation, helping participants connect deeply with themselves.

Day Two brought participants into the landscape of grief and loss through the compassionate lens of reproductive justice. Space was held for the stories of bereaved parents and doulas, allowing sorrow to be witnessed and supported. Through somatic practices, rituals of remembrance, and reflective writing, participants learned how to support others while tending to their own hearts in this sacred work. Nneka Denise led a powerful wRite to Heal session, guiding participants to process grief through creative reflection.

The training concluded with deep gratitude and a renewed commitment to supporting families with integrity and love in the face of loss. Participants left resourced, transformed, and recommitted to their role as compassionate doulas.

We Came to Listen. We Left Transformed.

Reflections from the Foster America OPT-In for Families Convening

April  30th, 2025

There are moments when time slows down—when the air shifts, hearts open, and a deep truth enters the room. That’s what happened when Samone Marie stood before us and shared her lived experience in the foster care system. It wasn’t just a story—it was a transmission. A heart-opening reminder of why we were all there: to reimagine a world that honors truth, centers healing, and uplifts lived experience as sacred knowledge.

Graciela the Sage guided us through Vibrational Sound Medicine, helping us release what we were carrying, grounding us in presence, and reminding us that healing is not a concept—it’s a practice. Her sound medicine softened the spaces we often guard too tightly.

Then came Sah’Rah Ma’at Bey, who led us in a Journey of Unity and Collective Vision. Through her sacred facilitation, we remembered what it means to dream together—not from a place of fixing, but from a place of wholeness. She reminded us that reimagining isn’t just a concept—it’s a commitment.

We were not passive participants. We were invited into active remembrance. We didn’t just attend a conference—we entered a healing space. A space where systems were not only questioned but energetically shifted.

To reimagine child and family well-being, we must listen. We must unlearn. We must make space. Wednesday, April 30th, we did just that.

Reflections from the Spring Temple of Belonging Gathering

With Love from the Ladies of the Light

May 2nd, 2025

We are still feeling the glow.

What a joy it was to gather in such a sacred, soulful space—and to be among so many beautiful be-ings sharing their heart work with open hands and open hearts.

Ladies of the Light was honored to be a vendor at this radiant event. We were deeply moved by all those we met—fellow travelers, healers, and soul family alike. One of the highlights for us was witnessing the joyful surprise of the silent auction winner, who received our Journey to Wholeness Sacred Retreat offering. May it bless you on your path.

The space was alive with sacred medicine.

Graciela the Sage invited participants to step into her Himalayan grounding bowl, offering deep vibration and energetic balance—many of us left with lighter feet and fuller hearts.

Divinely Sah’Rah graced the gathering with Bloom: Anointing Rose Essence, a divine infusion of beauty, prayer, and plant wisdom that left many anointed and aglow.

And Samone Marie’s Sacred Ancestral Baths were an unforgettable hit—calling forth remembrance, release, and deep-rooted healing. Her offering was truly a balm for the soul.

This spring celebration was an unforgettable tapestry of connection, healing, and joy.

We look forward to weaving again soon—may the circle continue to grow.

ANCESTRAL WISDOM

A Call to the Waters Within by Samone Marie , Soulestial Guide and W.O.M.N. Council of Healers Lead

There is a stirring in the waters—a sacred pull from the ancestral realms calling you home to yourself… and to each other.

This season, we enter a gateway of rebirth—not alone, but together. For the old ones whisper through the wind: “I am because we are.”

Ubuntu is not merely a word. It is an ancient vibration rooted in the lands of the Nguni Bantu peoples—the Zulu, Xhosa, and Ndebele. It is the drumbeat of communal soul, echoed in the phrase:Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu“A person is a person through other people.”

This knowing lived in the bones of our ancestors, guiding kinship, care, and connection.

It rose again through the sacred voices of community leaders, who reminded us that healing is not an individual act—but a collective rising. And now… the waters call.

You are invited to return to the elemental womb. To cleanse the echoes of separation. To pour your breath into the four directions. To bring your sacred item or crystal—whatever wishes to journey with you. And to remember.

We will anoint the body.Speak to the waters. And rise in unity—clear, whole, and woven back into the great web of

Ubuntu.

The water awaits your presence. The ancestors await your voice. The rebirth has already begun.

Come. Be witnessed. Be washed. Be one. We rise together. We heal as one.

Healing The Waters Within - A Rebirth into Unity by Samone Marie
Healing The Waters Within - A Rebirth into Unity by Samone Marie

Healing the Waters Within – A Rebirth into Unity

Theme: Ubuntu. Rebirth. Ancestral Remembrance. Unity.

You Will Need:

• A bowl of fresh water (spring, rain, or filtered if possible)

• A sacred item or crystal of your choosing (Tiger’s Eye, Quartz, Amber, or one that calls to you)

• A white or cobalt blue cloth

• A candle (white or amber)

• Incense or sacred smoke (palo santo, sage, copal, or herbs aligned with your lineage)

• Optional: rose petals, essential oil (ylang ylang, rosemary, or cedarwood)

Ritual Steps:

1. Prepare & Clear Your Sacred SpaceLay your cloth before you and place your items in a way that feels intuitively aligned. Light your incense or sacred herb bundle, and begin to clear your space with smoke, saying:

“With this sacred smoke, I cleanse this space of all that no longer serves. I invite only truth, love, guidance, and unity to remain.”

2. Light the Candle: Calling in the Light: Now light your candle with reverence and say:

“I call in the Divine Light, Source of all. I welcome my wise & well ancestors, spirit guides, and the winds of my breath to stand in the four corners of this space—East, South, West, and North. May this circle be protected, illuminated, and blessed.”

Take a deep inhale and exhale in each direction, inviting in presence, peace, and alignment.

3. Place the Water: Coolness Within: Place your bowl of water at the center of your space. As you do, speak aloud:

“I bring forth the sacred waters. Cool waters of the Earth and the soul. May they soothe all that arises within me. May they bring renewal to all that presents itself.”

Add your sacred item or crystal into the bowl. Add oils or petals if desired.

4. Invocation: Remembering the Waters of Unity: Place your hands over the bowl. Close your eyes and breathe. Say aloud:

“I call upon the ancient waters—The ones that flowed through my ancestors’ tears,The rivers that birthed dragons,The sacred springs of my lineage.I remember who I am.I am because we are.I heal the waters within so we may all rise whole.”

5. Stirring & Releasing: Swirl the water clockwise. As you do, speak:

“With each turn, I dissolve the old—scarcity, fear, isolation. With each turn, I call forth community, clarity, belonging, and love.”

6. Water Blessing Breath (Rebirth Activation): Hover your hands over the bowl and take 3 deep breaths:

• 1st breath: I release all that no longer serves me or my lineage.

• 2nd breath: I remember the truth: I am never alone.

• 3rd breath: I rebirth into unity, Ubuntu flowing through me.

7. Anoint & Embody the Blessing: Dip your fingers into the water. Gently anoint:

• Your forehead (for wisdom and remembrance)

• Your heart (for compassion and unity)

• Your womb or solar plexus (for power and purpose)

• Your hands (for service to community)

• Your feet (for the path of the ancestors)

Say softly:

“May the waters within me ripple healing to all I touch.”

8. Closing Gratitude + Earth Offering:

Thank the water and the spirits who joined you.

Pour the water outside—into the earth, a stream, or at the base of a tree—as an offering of unity and healing.

Say:

“As within, so around. As I heal, we heal. As I rise, we rise. Ubuntu.”

Journal Prompts for Integration:

• What within me is ready to soften, cool, and release?

• Where in my life do I seek to rebuild connection and unity?

• How am I called to embody Ubuntu in service to community?

• What message did the water hold for me today?
